Everything Is Illuminated(!)
This week was exciting and endearing and sentimental all at once
not just because of Northwestern news itself
but because everybody in my dept.
from faculty to fellow students
offered so much support
in emails - notes - hugs and kisses
and I can’t even say it enough:
I WILL SNUGGLE YOU ALL, CSUN ENGLISH.
I am one lucky lady
and I will never take that for granted.

Sometimes I Listen To Sermons
Because somebody believing so firmly in something is one of the most dazzling things to hear.
On A Daily Basis
I am so excited to be alive.
Then I get me some cat snugglin’
And I have to just reboot.
It Is
equally enlightening and humiliating
when you and your gurlz can sit in a parking lot and cry to Bon Iver
and repeatedly announce “You guys…we are so lucky…you guys…you guys, we are so lucky.”
Naturally it was time to go home when someone asked if I’ve ever seen a butterfly in action and cried.
That’s when it’s time to go home.
